Ross Chaffin is a registered patent attorney. Ross's areas of practice include intellectual property, including the filing and prosecution of patent and trademark applications, developing a company's intellectual property strategy, business transactions and both I.P. and general litigation.

Representative Engagements
  • Represented companies in all phases of complex business litigation
  • Represented private and public companies in multi-million dollar patent infringement lawsuits
  • Represented multiple chain-of-custody software companies in the development of their strategic intellectual property portfolios
  • Successfully prosecuted hundreds of patent applications for individuals and companies ranging from micro-entities to multi-million dollar corporations
  • Represented companies in all phases of trademark and copyright disputes
  • Represented companies in trade-secret litigation and litigation regarding business organization issues
  • Drafted patent applications for technology including underground boring, software, semiconductors, oilfield equipment, oilfield chemicals, and consumer products.

Ross is a member of the Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and American Bar Associations. He is licensed to practice in all Oklahoma state courts, federal courts for all Federal Districts of Oklahoma, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 

Other Activities

Ross is the 2022 President of the Intellectual Property Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association.  He is on the board of Project 3810, a small business incubator serving Northwest Oklahoma City.  He aspires to continue his career as the world's slowest ultramarathoner.
